DEFINING YOUR 3 PRINCIPLES
The Best Man Holiday was an inspiration to all movie goers. One important lesson was having three principles in life and living by them on the daily. So here are my three principles and how they apply to my life.
I went to go see The Best Man Holiday and it was very good. Like everyone said it took me on an emotional rollercoaster because one minute I was laughing and then the next I was crying. The movie was extremely emotional but very inspiring and entertaining to watch. One of the best scenes in the movie is when the guys were having a bonding moment and they each named their three principles in life. After viewing the movie, it made me think about my three principles in life at this moment in time. In order of importance order, mine are honesty, consistency, and longevity. And I’m absolutely not saying that I have conquered all three but I have gotten better with applying them to my life.
1. Honesty: The most difficult principle of them all is honesty; you can’t cheat yourself and still plan to come out a winner. I’ve learned that in order to make it far in life you need to be honest. I can’t want others to be honest with me if I can’t do it to myself. Honesty takes unnecessary stress from my life and allows me to make decisions that are true to my values and beliefs.
2. Consistency: Honesty brings consistency. Once I’m honest with myself and about life, I can live a life that is consistent with those values. I have to be consistent and follow through the goals I have set. Consistency was a characteristic that was hidden under my procrastination which was behind laziness. The negative was replaced with the positive.
3. Longevity: This principle is simple. I want a career that lasts for generations to come and inspires people to live a positive, happy life.
Define your three principles in life and be sure to apply it to life every day. And if you haven’t seen The Best Man Holiday, please hurry! You will not be disappointed.
